How to make a sandwich. According to a robot programmer. [me*]

we are learning how to make a scientific method. Miss A ,our teacher, gave us a task on telling her how to make a sandwich as if she was a robot. this is what you need to say and what not to say

this is how not to tell a robot to make a sandwich

  1. wash hands
  2. grab bread from the bag
  3. spread butter on the bread
  4. add marmite on top
  5. close the sandwich
  6. cut it half
  7. eat
This is what to say instead

  1. go to the sink
  2. turn on the cold tap
  3. get your hands wet in the water
  4. Squirt one pump of soup on your palms
  5. rub your hands together
  6. rinse the soap off your hands with water
  7. turn the tap off
  8. grab a towel
  9. dry your hands on the towel
  10. open the bread bag
  11. take two slices of bread from the bag
  12. place the bread side by side on the plate
  13. pick up the handle of the knife
  14. open the butter
  15. stab the butter near the edge with the blade
  16. put the butter on the knife blade
  17. spread the butter evenly on one of the biggest sides of the bread
  18. put down the knife
  19. replace the lid on the butter
  20. pick up the knife by the handle
  21. open up the marmite
  22. get a little bit of marmite on the knife
  23. spread it evenly on the buttered piece of bread
  24. put the knife down
  25. replace the lid on the marmite
  26. grab the unbuttered piece of bread and plase the biggest side down on top of the buttered piece.
  27. pick up the knife by the handle
  28. cut the sandwich in half
  29. enjoy
Why is it good to have detailed method
it is good so that we can understand the instructions and so we don't muck up.
