My thoughts on English

The first post of 2023 let's go! (I love how I write most of my posts as if people outside of my teachers actually read them haha)

This post is about what I think about English and what I'm like (I think. I wasn't paying 100% attention) (Sorry ms)

I think English is interesting, however, I struggle to dive deeper into my ideas. I can say "This is the main point" But I struggle to come up with why it's important. I also struggle with putting my ideas into words that make sense. I may know what I want to say, just not how to say it. I like doing creative work/writing and to be completely honest, it's one of the only things I really enjoy about English. I also stick to my ideas a lot and can be slightly stubborn. One of my other favorite topics is novel study. Mainly because I get to read a book.

Something about me is that I like to listen to music while I do my work. I find it helps me to drown out what others are saying and the tapping of keys. My Dad says I'm addicted, but eh, I just like music over chatter.

(I have been given more information on what I'm meant to be writing. Back on topic for us then =D ))

My expectations for this course are to struggle with all the essays I have to write, and hopefully, end up with a merit at the end of it.
My understanding of English is that it's teaching you how to think critically and how to write reports and essays efficiently.

Behold the classic example of I have the ideas but I can't expand on them =D

((This was meant to be posted on the 9th of Feb but I ran out of time and kept forgetting to post it. But better late than never I guess haha))

optical illusions

The lens of the eyeball focuses light back onto the retina, where photoreceptive rods and cones are affected by the wavelength of the light. Information about the light entering the eye travels through the optic nerve, where it is then interpreted by the brain. The brain is responsible for taking raw data about light wavelengths and untangling the patterns, using memory in order to make sense of the images that the brain ultimately "sees."
While you definitely can't see without your eyes, nothing would make sense without input from the brain.

Our eyes transmit a tremendous amount of information back to the brain, and it requires too much brain power to process all of it. In order to make the job easier, the brain has devised shortcuts to understand what it is seeing. Shadows, perspective, and color are all clues the brain uses in order to make decisions about what it is looking at.

aim: to look at the 4 main forces of flying and how these can be overcome.

Hypothesis: I think that.......

Method: Working in pairs we are going to make a paper wing and experiment with it.
  1. Make a paper wing out of A4 paper
  1. On the field you will need to record and observe how 5 different changes affect the way it flies.

all about me 2018

well it's another year and I'm back in science so here is another all about me

my name is Michaela and my from class this year is 8Ts. My teacher is mr Tisch and ya. I'm 12 and cant wait to get deep in to this year

here's a sneak peek on a story that Im writing
Many years ago, when I was just a small boy, we found a mysterious object washed up on the
beach. It was a sort of silver-grey colour, and looked like a finger, only much, much larger.
My friends and I had huddled together on the beach around the thing, holding our hands
up to our faces to shield our eyes from the dazzling sun, talking excitedly about what it could
be. Some hours later, after we had all made up wild stories about the origin of our new toy, we
dragged the colossal item that was the size of our dining table up to the village.

As we made our way slowly over the sand dunes, and the long, wispy grass that marked the
end of the beach and the start of the fields, a crowd seemed to be gathering. Women and young
children were leaving their houses, young lads were leaving tools and ploughs unattended in
the fields, and rosy-cheeked men were stumbling out of the smoke-filled tavern, all hurrying
with increasing urgency towards us.

when I am finished I will post it
