Metaphors and similes

Metaphors and similes. Two words I can not spell. So instead, I use copy and paste. Yes I am lazy. Yes I do not care. Now to the question I have to be answering. What is are metaphors and similes?

Well, a metaphors is basically when you say it is that thing. So, I am a sneaky snake. Well obviously I am not a snake, Or am I? Na, any way, a simile is when you say it is like that thing. So, I am like a sneaky snake.

Some metaphors:
It is raining cats and dogs
Let's talk about the elephant in the room (Or there is an elephant in the room)
His eyes were ice as he stared at her
I am Fit as a fiddle
He said it with the confidence of someone caught with their hand in the cookie jar, in a cookie factory, and his pants are on fire

Some smilies
it was As light as a feather
He was eating like a Pig
Her glare was as sharp as daggers
They grinned like a cat
It was as dead as a dead thing

Sensory Language

In english, we are doing a Matrix. A creative writing Matrix. One of the things we had to do was Sensory Language. Here is what I wrote

The moonlight glistened, reflecting off the lake in front of me. Quiet chatter floated from the ballroom, mixing with the soft slow music. I breathed deeply. The roses' pungent smell mixed with the pine trees that surround the property. The sound of footsteps reached my ears. The last thing I see is the lake quivering before a sack gets thrown over my head. A sickly sweet smell hits my nose, as I slowly black out.

I Smiled as I walked into the familiar bakery, the scent of baked goods hitting me at full force. The owner, A kind lady called Brie Mclean, smiles at me as I sit down at a cream colour table. The soundtrack to Dear Evan Hansen, plays softly. I get out my homework, and Mrs Mclean comes over with a small cake with a surprise smaller cake inside called so big so small.  I smile at her as she sets it down. I bit into it and chocolate floods my mouth. I smile as I swallow. This is my favorite shop EVER!

Ya. I know they are bad, but...... I. Don't. Care. I like the first one better. I think it has better Sensory Language, the second one, not so much. I like the idea of it, but the execution of it was not as good as it could have been.

Slam poetry

In english we have to to a Creative writing matrix. One of the thingys we have to do is slam poetry. We had to listen to three, and pick our favorite.

I'm at a tie with this one

and this one

I like the first one because, it is funny and its gay. I like the second one because it is funny and it is well presented.

I have to write two thoughtful opinions for the poetry, and support with specific evidence (quotes) from the text (at least 2) in my discussion. Hmmm............. I have no idea what to write. I liked them? I'm sorry, I can't think of anything else to say.

Sorry.

Haikus

In English we are doing a creative writing matrix. One of the options where haikus. So I did that. Here they are. Yes one is just cake written multiple times. Yes it works. Yes it is proper haiku. Yes all these answers are yes. Yes I do not care. Yes you can not change my mind. Yes I will shut up now. Yes I lied. Yes you can no longer trust me. Yes I know you are starting to get annoyed. Yes I will actually let you read the haikus now. Yes I am telling the truth. Yes I know I have kept talking. Yes I know you could just skip all of this and just read the haikus. Yes I lied again. Yes I know you now hate me. Yes I do not care. Yes I will actually shut up now.

Haikus

You can ship people
Like Klance, Stucky and Drarry.
Yes they are all gay.

Flowers are pretty
Rose, Pansy, Lilly, Daisy.
Petunias as well.

Cake cake cake cake cake
Cake cake cake cake cake cake cake
Cake cake cake cake cake

Haikus are tricky
Apollo is bad at them
Everyone hates his

School is sometimes fun
Half the time it is not though
The rest is ok

Yes I am back. Yes I will keep doing this for a while. Yes you can stop reading now. Yes I know you will not do that because you want to see what I am going to say. Yes I know that was the longest sentence. Yes I am okay. Yes I am bored. Yes I am doing this to annoy you. Yes I know it is working. Yes this is my favorite post. Yes I am having fun. Yes this is wasting my time. Yes I don't care. Yes I know you may be confused. Yes I am too. Yes I tired. Yes I am getting a kick out of this. Yes I have just disappointed everyone who knows me. Yes this is fun. Yes you should do it on one of your posts. Yes I have spent a whole hour doing this.

4 items, 1 paragraph

Another creative writing matrix thing. So ya, this time I have to have 4 items and put them together in one paragraph. The 4 items are

  1. A specific source of a light (a flashing neon light reading: "21 and Over", a flickering fluorescent bulb, moonlight filtering through drawn shades)
  2. A specific object (a pink hairbrush with blonde hair matted in the bristles, a discarded replica of a Dali painting, a baby robin, poking its wobbly head from a rickety nest)
  3. A sound using onomatopoeia (the pinging of a glass bottle ricocheting across a cobblestone street, the ching of a handful of a coins in a man's pocket, the wet splat of phlegm hitting the sidewalk from the old lady smoking near the laundromat)
  4. A specific place (the dingy alley between Brooks St. and 6th Ave., the empty science classroom filled with glass beakers, hot plates, and frogs floating in formaldehyde, the darkened, smoky interior of Flanagan's Pub)
My four things are going to be a very crappy hand held torch, a old hand gun, creaking, and a hut in the middle of a forest of oak.

*Creak* I roll over. *Creak creak* I yawn. "Why must it be windy?" I mutter *creak* "Wait.... it's not windy..... Crap. There is an unknown thing moving in my house, hut, in the middle of a random oak forest." I sit up, grabbing my torch that is on its last legs "you better not die on me" I mutter. I walk up the stairs to the attic. the light flickers, just as I reach the top step. A movement catches my eye. I swing the light around and see... a old, no ancient handgun. I picked it up. it was a well crafted piece of metal. Movement in my side vision makes my heart rate spike. I spin around shining the ever dimming torch at the wall. Nothing. "Come on! If you are here please show yourself so I can go back to sleep." I pleaded to the air. Nothing. "Why did I think that would work?" I mutter. "Because you are a idiot." Someone says "Agreed" I mummer. "Wait WHAT!" "I said you are a idiot" The voice chuckled. I spin around "where are you?" I ask shaking slightly "Right here" As I turn, a face appears in my own face. "WHAT THE FU-FELAGONE!" I scream jumping back in the most dramatic way possible. Mr Make-Me-Pee-my-pants-from-fright, was nearly peeing his pants from laughing to hard. "Y-y-your face!" He gaspes. I clutched my heart. "Dude what the frick!" I whisper-yelled. "Sorry Sorry! My name is Mark. Yes I am a ghost and I am sorry for scaring you." He smiled at me. I sighed "Can I go to sleep now?" I asked, he nodded. I turned around annnnd..... my light went out. "You maloresntuian!" I screamed. It turned back on "Thank you" It tuned back off "FOR THE LOVE OF ANYTHING YOU LOVE STAY ON!" As I walked back down the steps I swear I heard "You."

hope you like it.

sentence started writing.

With the creative writing matrix that we are doing in english I have decided to do the sentence starter writing. this is where  have a sentence ie, with great power come great resopnapilaty,  and you right a story with every sentence starting with the next word in the sentence. My sentence I will use is,  the big brown bears just tried to kill us.  I don't know

The children hurried to find a shelter before the rain started. Big grey clouds blocked most of the little light that came through the canopy of trees. Brown mud stuck to their shoes as the rain started, damping the ground making then slip as they hurried along. Bear's shoes kept falling off slowing them down. Just as a crack of thunder sounds they find a cave to hid in. Tried attempts at a fire were pointless with the wind whipping around them. To say they were lost, cold and hungry was an understatement. "Kill kill kill" the wind seemed to whipper, whipping at their already freezing bodys. "Us never getting back, us die out here," Lydia muttered before passing out.

Think I did this right. Hope you liked it. Some words like tried and kill were hard to use but I did it. Sooooo ya....... Ummmm BYE!

In Santa's Defence

OK in Santa’s defence, the list just said velociraptor. It said nothing about it being a toy. In Santa’s defence, his eyes aren't as good as they used to be. In his defence, he is getting on a bit. He was just giving the kid what he wanted. If he did not want a real velociraptor then he should of been more specific. In Santa’s defence, the elves never asked his opinion once he handed them the list. In his defence he just delvers the toys/gifs. In his defence, it was a very well behaved velociraptor. It sat beside him the whole time and shut up once Santa theated to chuck him overboard. In his defence, the boy seemed thrilled with it. It was the parents how complained. The boy loved it. He said himself that it was the best gift ever.
