Home Economics culture unit

In Home Economics this term, we have been doing a culture unit where we researched a country we knew little to no information on, and found out their culture around food edicate. This is what me and my group did. I'm sorry if there are unfinished slides, I had absolutely no help with it as my group was constily away and never did any work (Yes I am salty, and pissed, no I do not care) Enjoy.

Evaluation. (I know this is on the slides, I'm just petty)
Strengths: We got the work done, and to a decent quality.
Weakness: People not showing up to class leaving me to do all the work, by myself.
Improvements: Come to class, or at least do the work in your own time. and not leaving it all on flipping person!

Persuasive writing: Should gay couples have the same adoption rights as straight couples?

LO:We are learning to express our views on a topical issue using ‘Write That Essay’ sentences.

In English we are looking at persuasive writing. We have to look at a current common political issue and decide where we stand with it, and then write three sentences about our opinion on the topic, using write that Essay sentence structures. This is mine

Interestly, LGBTQ+ couples don't have the same adoption rights as straight cis couples. Love is love; parents are parents. All a child needs is, parents, people to love them, a home.

Adverb start: Interestly, LGBTQ+ couples don't have the same adoption rights as straight cis couples.

Semi-colon: Love is love; parents are parents.

Red white and Blue :All a child needs is, parents, people to love them, a home.

DTE

In  DTE we have been doing a sphero project were we get given a sphero, and told, go make something. Me and my group decided to make a race track, and have the spheros race around that. That has not gone well.

We started with 'research' and wasted a couple of periods until I got sick of not being told what to do, and decided to actually get some work done, so I started to make a track. Braydon then started with the coding. After a while we realized that something was wrong. Every time we ran the code, even without changing it, the outcome would change. Under turn the corner, then the next time over turn. So we spent the next three and a half weeks trying to fix the coding (We still haven't sorting that out) Mr Carter then told us we had to redo the track because it looked like, and I quote "like some my drunk uncle would make." So we re-did the track, making some changes, most noticeably the corners. We used to have rounded corners, but we decide that sharp 90o would be better. We then took it to the art space to paint it. We took the next three days to paint it.

Evidence/pictures of our work will come soon

Personal thoughts

I have not enjoyed it all that much.  Things not going right, people not doing as they are told (*CoughcoughboysCoughcough*) Sorry had to clear my throat. I will amit, it had merit, it was a good(ish) idea, and had it worked, it would have been quite cool. We just didn't execute it well.

DTE race track

23rd October 2020,

In class for the past Term and week we have been working on a Sphero code what has been completed at the moment:
  1. Idea 1 of track
  2. Code 1
  3. Idea of better track
  4. 1 layer of grass paint
  5. Starting line
  6. Road drawn out
  7. Second coat of grass paint
This has been hard on all of us and some have stressed and have been struggling with making the track to ideas. But overall this team is going well.

Pictures available soon.

(Sorry for bad Grammer, I did not write this)

Volcano Project

In science we are making model volcanoes. Here is the process

Building it

To build it, we were given a milk bottle, a cardboard sheet, news paper, and a water and glue mixture. We were told to paper mache the milk bottle into a volcano shape. Easier said than done. I struggled for the entire period, making an only mediocre looking volcano, that I then was told looked good!? I don't know. Anyway, we left it to dry over the long weekend.

Painting it

Yesterday, we were painting it. There was a trolly full of art supplies and we were set loose. (*Insert evil grin here*) My group painted our volcano grey, before adding metallic paints, because, shiny, and then red spilling from the top as lava. It surprisingly looks good. I will now believe people telling me it looks good.

Introduction (Children of Blood and Bone)

In english we are stating to learn to write our essay. Today we did the Introduction. This is mine

The novel Children of blood and bone by Tomi Adeyemi is about a girl who tries to save magic with her friends.
In the text, the relationship between Zelie and Yami helped me to understand the character of Zelie. This is because it showed me How when Zelie puts her mind to do something she will do it to her best ability, How she does not quit, and how determined she is to succeed.
